One Week Until Honduras
Posted on June 13, 2010, by Matt, under Updates.
We will be leaving next Saturday June 19th at 6:00am for Honduras with a team of 22 other people from Journey Church. Hopefully most of you have received word in one way or another that we were going. If not, now you’re in the know.
Journey announced that a team would be going a few months back. Magan and I pretty much looked at each other and said, “let’s do it.” Magan has traveled and been a part of international mission before in Moldova. I have never been out of the country for the purpose of missions. We are SUPAR pumped.
Our team will be split up into three teams: construction, ministry and training. We will be doing home repairs on missionary Roger Reeck’s home. He and our pastor Jimmy have been long-time friends and is a mentor to Jimmy. Roger and his wife are Wycliffe Bible translators. Roger recently had knee surgery and hasn’t been able to do home repairs, so we’ll be doing what we can to help out. The ministry team will be going into the local schools and hanging out with kids. Some puppetry will be involved. Some have said I’m a master puppeteer, but I beg to differ. Journey has also helped build a pastoral training facility in Honduras and some of our team will be training pastors.
This week, we ask that you would pray for us as we get everything packed up and ready to go for the trip. Pray that our bodies respond well to our last bit of vaccinations. We took a trip to the health department recently (seen below) and had ourselves shot up. We’ve taken typhoid pills and only have malaria pills left to take. The typhoid pills weren’t so nice to Magan, so just be in prayer that the malaria pills will set well in both of our systems.

Lastly, pray for the team as a whole and people of Honduras. We’re not totally sure what to expect, but we know God will likely rock our faces off!
I’m going to get a Honduras blog setup this week through Journey so that everyone can follow the trip. The blog will be www.takeajourney.org/honduras. Feel free to bookmark it and keep up with us while we’re gone.

Getting Back in the Swing of Things
Posted on January 10, 2010, by Matt, under Updates.
The 2009 holiday season is officially over and 2010 is upon us.
We kicked off the year with our small group for the entire weekend. We had a party at our house New Year’s Eve and then our entire small group headed to Kannapolis New Year’s Day to help Magan’s mom with some various projects around the house. We were able to get the entire basement painted. I must say that it looks great and we could have not done it without our amazing friends!
This past weekend we were in Kannapolis again to cheer on Anna as she competed in the Miss Mecklenberg County pageant. Although she didn’t place, she was at the top of her game and we’re super proud of her! We also spent time celebrating Megan and Morgan’s 21st birthday at The Big Easy in Downtown Raleigh. It was a very tasty New Orleans style restaurant that we would highly recommend. We our super proud of them as well!
January also brought the return to work. Everything is going well so far. Molly got spayed last week. She has recovered just fine and she’s back to her normal self. She brings such joy into our lives.
God continues to be faithful in providing our day-to-day needs. It’s so easy to worry, but He always provides in His perfect timing. God also continues to work miracles in the lives of our friends. We’ll try to elaborate in future posts.
We should be at home the next few weekends spending some quality time at home. If you want to visit. Feel free to drop by…

Merry Christmas from the Keith’s
Posted on December 22, 2009, by Magan, under Updates.
Hey Everybody! We wanted to take a minute out of all of the hustle & bustle of the season to say Merry Christmas! Our lives have been overwhelmingly busy with teaching, coaching, web designing, and being homeowners. Not to mention decorating, shopping, and partying for the holidays. In the midst of it all, we have been reminded many times to stop and thank God for the many blessings he has given us this year and most importantly for the miracle of his son, Jesus. Isn’t it amazing that he came to this earth, was born in a manger, and lived a poor life just for us. Our pastor, Jimmy Carroll, talked about this, this past weekend at church. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says that he became poor so that we could become rich. Rich, that is, in him. Rich in the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus Christ. What an amazing concept, a concept that we take for granted on a daily basis. My prayer for us and for you this holiday season is that we take this concept and every time we get together, open a gift, and eat a meal that we are reminded of the real reason of Christmas.

Have a very blessed and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We love you all!
Matt, Magan, and Little Molly

no blog posts? we’ve been traveling
Posted on October 26, 2009, by Matt, under Updates.
fall 2009 has been nothing but traveling for us. we’ve spent six of the last eight weekends on the road. it’s been a lot of fun, but quite tiresome. you can check out some pictures from our travels here. we got to see lots of friends and family and had a blast all of the places we went.
other than weekend traveling, work has been crazy as usual. just not enough hours in a day. learning to say no, working till we’re blurry-eyed, etc., etc. one big life change for the fall was getting plugged in with a new small group at journey. right now it is a group of four newly-married couples. God has placed us in the right place at the right time with the right group of people. it’s amazing to see how God brought us all together, all from different backgrounds and walk together and learn together. we’re super pumped about it.
as we begin to look to the winter, we’re looking to spend much more time at home, enjoying being here, enjoying the blessings God has blessed us with, and enjoying being married. we’ve spent a lot of time on the road and we’re ready for a change. just continue to pray for us as we seek what it is that God is calling us to on a daily basis.

Our New Addition-Molly
Posted on October 4, 2009, by Magan, under Updates.
We finally got a puppy…she’s a miniature dachshund. Her name is Molly and she is already a spoiled rotten mess. We’ve had her for a little over a month and she’s grown quite a bit since we got her. She’s looking more like a dachshund now, maybe Matt or I will get time to post more pictures later. We’re super busy with work and keeping up with day to day things…imagine that!
Here’s a few pictures for now…
